School is back in session and motorists are reminded to pay attention on the roads. Do not use cell phones or other devices while driving. Be courteous, attentive and obey the crossing guard, speed limits and community safety zones at all times. Motorists MUST NOT proceed through the crosswalk until the children and the crossing guard have cleared the roadway. As a motorist, you MUST STOP before reaching a crosswalk when the crossing guard has their stop sign in an upright position.

Collingwood Heritage Committee

Applicants should have an interest in heritage conservation, historical research, historical building materials and techniques and have good communication skills, demonstrate initiative, and positive attitude. Applicants must submit a completed application including a brief statement as to why they are interested in the committee and how they believe they could contribute. The application is to be submitted to the undersigned no later than: Friday, October 6, 2017 @ 12:00 p.m. All members appointed to committees/boards must reside, own or rent property within Collingwood, be a Canadian citizen, and over the age of eighteen. Please note that the position is on a volunteer basis. Notice of Public Meeting

On Monday October 16, 2017, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Collingwood will hold a public meeting, pursuant to Section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, to present and obtain public input on the Black Ash Creek Watershed Special Policy Area Background Study Update and related proposed by-law imposing the Development Charges. Any person may attend the Public Meeting of Council and any person who attends the meeting may make representations relating to the study and proposed by-law. The meeting is to be held: Monday October 16, 2017 at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 97 Hurontario Street, Collingwood, Ontario, L9Y 2L9 Tel: 705-445-1030 In order that sufficient information is made available to the public, copies of the proposed by-law and background study are being made available on or before August 25, 2017 from the Clerk Services Department at the above noted location and online at www.collingwood.ca.
